Seeking the missing artificer the group heads into the Metro and thwarts a derailment

We discuss heading into the metro, in search of the artificer who could have created the darkness that was used in the assassination of the grand prince. Caiden goes to get his disease cleared but is too poor. At the gates we are asked about our purpose being here, and we say it is for sightseeing. Being let in, we head to the casino we were told of when entering the city, getting directions to the metro station. We make our way to the station, an old woman waits knitting, and the conductor paces worriedly. travel has slowed to Krovil, and we learn that the conductor is worried of terrorism from Krovil.
Caiden has changed dress, now he is dressed like Link from BotW. The book about the Grimmwalds includes a large portion about the trip from Grimmwald to Maradov, a city to rival the mountains they called home. They describe staying at an evergreen island and meeting nobles, one of whom seems to have been the emperor, though they did not know, and a winged person, constantly crafting art and near the emperor at all times. The journal is quite happy, interspersed with letters, and confused about the lack of responses.
On our way, Caiden finds that fire appears to be coming from the engine room, Vira picks the door open, and dense unbreathable smoke pours from the cabin. An assassin attack's Vira from the smoke, but is quickly subdued. They are a member of the Boneveil assassins, sent to derail the train. they appear to be the client of an envoy of the first child(?). We slow the train and set a trap for the remaining assassins, defeating 3 more, while another gets away. They do have the artificer, and their darkness was the one involved in
This was all at the order of the “envoy of the first child,” and individual whose name is unknown to the assassins, but by whose description Adelheid recognizes as one who attacked her people. Viola was the one to carry out the assassination on the grand prince, a senior assassin, while Anne helped from the crowd. We speak with the assassins and agree to a meeting with them, seeing a potential ally.
